Community Music Initiative

The 2009-10 season ushers in a new era of heightened community engagement for The Cleveland Orchestra.  With the launch of the Community Music Initiative, the Orchestra is working to make it possible for more people in Northeast Ohio than ever before to connect with symphonic music.

The Community Music Initiative incorporates a variety of traditional and longstanding programs with brand-new activities to engage, educate, and enliven Northeast Ohio. Many of these programs are detailed on the following pages.  In coming seasons, additional new opportunities for all Northeast Ohioans will be announced and implemented – with the goal of transforming lives, hearts, and minds.

The Cleveland Orchestra is grateful for the broad support that generous and community-minded corporations, foundations, and individuals have committed toward making this initiative possible. Future seasons will bring new participants, new community partners, and sponsorship opportunities.  Together, we can make Northeast Ohio a place where orchestral music plays a vital role in everyday life, for people of all ages and walks of life.
