The Artists

Franz Welser-Möst was appointed the seventh music director of The Cleveland Orchestra in 1999 and began his tenure with the 2002-03 season. He has led the Orchestra on tours from Asia to Europe and across North America, and developed a series of residencies with the Orchestra across the globe. In Northeast Ohio, he has continued the ensemble's acclaimed work as one of the world's best orchestral ensembles and begun a variety of new initiatives to make music even more accessible at home at Severance Hall and Blossom.
