The Artists

British conductor Nicholas McGegan has been described in The New Yorker magazine as “an acclaimed expert in eighteenth-century style." He has served as music director of San Francisco's Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra for more than two decades and as artistic director of the International Handel Festival since 1991. Peter Otto joined The Cleveland Orchestra as associate concertmaster in 2007. He was previously a member of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, where he served as assistant concertmaster for two seasons. Mr. Otto holds a bachelor of music degree from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock, Germany, and a master of music degree from the Juilliard School. He has participated in a number of summer festivals, including Schleswig-Holstein, Salzburg’s Mozarteum Summer Academy, and Bowdoin in Maine.
