Founded in New York City in 2000 and named to reflect the diversity of its members, Ensemble du Monde (Orchestra of the World) performs throughout the New York area, the United State,s and abroad. The ensemble made its Carnegie Hall debut in 2004. Radio broadcasts have included frequent appearances on Radio Free Europe. Led by its music director, Marlon Daniel, the ensemble performs music from the Baroque era to the Avant-Garde, in addition to standard Classical repertoire works. The orchestra performs a series of concerts each season in New York, and recently served as ensemble-in-residence for the Saint-Georges International Festival in Guadeloupe.
