Cleveland Orchestra Children’s Chorus

Ann Usher has served as director of the Cleveland Orchestra Children’s Chorus since 2000. She prepares the Children’s Chorus for their performances as part of the annual Christmas concerts and in the Orchestra’s performances of operas and symphonic works that call for children’s voices. Ms. Usher is an assistant professor of music at the University of Akron, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate choral music education and conducts the University Singers. She previously taught choral music at Solon Middle School. Ann Usher holds a bachelor of music education degree from the University of Northern Iowa, and a master of music degree in choral conducting and a PhD. in music education from Kent State University.
