CLEVELAND, April 6, 2010 – The Cleveland Orchestra is proud to announce “Severance Celebration…A Gala Evening for Cleveland’s Jewel” at Severance Hall on May 22. Mrs. Norma Lerner is the Distinguished Chair of the black-tie event. The Orchestra’s annual gala has become an eagerly awaited highlight of the social season in Northeast Ohio. This year’s event will pay tribute to the Orchestra in a celebration held on the stage of Severance Hall.
Guests will walk the red carpet through the main entrance of Severance Hall for the event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails in the Bogomolny-Kozerefski Grand Foyer. Following cocktails, guests will be escorted onto the Concert Hall stage for an exciting evening of exquisite food and music.
The evening concludes with a piano bar “Afterglow” of music and libations for additional socializing.
Elan Catering will prepare the dinner and DK Vanderbrook Florist will create the décor and floral arrangements.
Proceeds from the benefit support The Cleveland Orchestra’s education and community
programs of the Community Music Initiative, designed to provide greater access to orchestral music for more Northeast Ohio citizens than ever before. The Orchestra’s innovative programs are designed to deepen and broaden connections with symphonic music, at every age and every stage of life.
