The Cleveland Orchestra announces 2010-11 Celebrity Series
Four-concert series designed to welcome new audiences

Launched as a three-concert series during the 2009-10 season, the Celebrity Series drew sold-out houses for each performance. For the 2010-11 season, a fourth concert has been added to offer an even broader range of musical styles. All four concerts begin at 8 p.m.
- Saturday, October 16: Cabaret singer and pianist Michael Feinstein performs The Sinatra Project with The Cleveland Orchestra under the direction of Assistant Conductor James Feddeck.
- Wednesday, December 8: Grammy Award-winning film, television, and pops conductor Richard Kaufman leads the Orchestra in Holiday Movie Magic.
- Thursday, December 16: The Dave Brubeck Quartet performs with the Orchestra in An Evening with Dave Brubeck, celebrating Brubeck’s 90th birthday. Russell Gloyd conducts.
- Friday, April 29: Grammy award-winning jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater appears with the Orchestra in a tribute to the “First Lady of Song,” Ella Fitzgerald. The concert will be led by Assistant Conductor Sasha Mäkilä, who joins the Orchestra this fall. Presented in collaboration with Tri-C JazzFest.
Subscription and Ticket Information
Celebrity Series subscriptions are now on sale. Subscription renewal deadline is Friday, August 27. Single tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 7, available by internet, phone, and walk-up sales at the Severance Hall Ticket Office. Four-concert subscriptions range from $108-$288, offering a savings of 33% off the price of individual concert tickets, which range from $41-$108. In addition to the cost savings, subscriber benefits include priority seating, free ticket exchanges, and discounts at the Cleveland Orchestra Store. Open 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Beginning Saturday, September 11, the Ticket Office will be open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. The ticket Office is closed Sundays and holidays, except for those days with performances, when the Ticket Office opens 3 hours before concert start time.

Five-time Grammy-nominated singer and pianist Michael Feinstein takes the stage with The Cleveland Orchestra for an evening of classic songs popularized by Frank Sinatra, including “Exactly Like You,” “Fools Rush In,” and “I’ve Got a Crush on You.”

Film, television, and pops conductor Richard Kaufman leads The Cleveland Orchestra in music from classic holiday movies including Miracle on 34th Street, Polar Express, White Christmas, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Home Alone. Movies stills will be projected onscreen.

Dave Brubeck Quartet
Pianist Dave Brubeck and his legendary jazz quartet perform with The Cleveland Orchestra in celebration of Brubeck’s 90th birthday. The evening will include many hits from the platinum-selling album Time Out, including “Take Five,” “Blue Rondo à la Turk,” and “Three to Get Ready.”

Dee Dee Bridgewater, vocalist
Grammy-Award-winning jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater and The Cleveland Orchestra pay tribute to the “First Lady of Song,” Ella Fitzgerald, with a night of her hidden gems and best-loved jazz hits plus other favorites including Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were” and “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music.
