A Cookbook to Benefit
The Cleveland Orchestra
The Cleveland Orchestra’s new fundraising cookbook, Kitchen Conductor: Scores of Great Recipes, will be released for public sale on Tuesday, September 7. This is the first cookbook published in 28 years to benefit The Cleveland Orchestra.
The book is a collaboration between Louise Morris and Gail Kichler, authors and amateur chefs. They have enlisted the talents of many professional local and national chefs, who have provided recipes for this project. The book offers great recipes taken from Gail and Louise’s own kitchens as well as recipes donated by chefs. Louise and Gail have tested all the recipes and provide useful tips on preparation and serving.
The book, offering more than 200 recipes, contains 13 chapters on everything from appetizers to desserts. Chapters are separated by heavy stock dividers of different colors. The dividers feature photos of Severance Hall and The Cleveland Orchestra. A section titled “Conductor’s Notes” contains information on cooking techniques and ingredients pertinent to the recipes.
Kitchen Conductor is designed to be a “working cookbook.” The binding permits the pages to lie flat when the book is open, the paper is heavy to withstand spills, and there is space to write notes.
The price of the book is $22.00. Copies of the book can be ordered by completing a PDF order form or purchased at The Cleveland Orchestra Store at Severance Hall and the Bandwagon Gift Shop at Blossom Music Center in early September.
All proceeds from the sale of the book benefit The Cleveland Orchestra.
