Friday, September 24
During the opening week of the 2010-11 season, Franz Welser-Möst leads The Cleveland Orchestra in a performance of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring on Friday, September 24, at John Adams High School in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD). The performance will take place in the school’s gymnasium. For many students, it will be their first exposure to live orchestral music. The Orchestra’s September 2009 performances in two CMSD high schools, under Mr. Welser-Möst’s direction, marked the first time that the Orchestra had performed in the Cleveland public schools under its music director since the 1920s.
