Sasha Mäkilä conducts program with Magic Circle Mime Company
Release date: March 29, 2011
Sunday, April 17
The Cleveland Orchestra, under the direction of Assistant Conductor Sasha Mäkilä, will perform the final Family Concert of the 2010-11 season, focusing on the story of Peter and the Wolf, on Sunday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at Severance Hall. Sergei Prokofiev’s beloved classic will be performed in collaboration with the Magic Circle Mime Company. In a twist on this popular introduction to the orchestra, Peter tries to outwit a fearsome wolf that threatens the orchestra and audience alike. In addition to Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, the Orchestra will perform Franz von Suppé’s Overture to The Light Cavalry.
Family Concert sponsor Giant Eagle will provide free treats to audience members following the performance.
