Marek Janowski makes his Cleveland Orchestra debut
with concerts featuring Schubert’s Symphony in C major
(“The Great”) on February 23, 24, and 25 at Severance Hall

Arabella Steinbacher makes her debut with The Cleveland Orchestra as soloist in
Mendelssohn’s E-minor Violin Concerto at the concerts on February 23 and 25

Conductor Marek Janowski makes his debut with The Cleveland Orchestra in Severance Hall concerts featuring Schubert’s Symphony in C major (“The Great”), D. 944.  Violinist Arabella Steinbacher makes her Cleveland Orchestra debut as soloist in Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, Opus 64, at the Thursday and Saturday concerts, which open with Carl Maria von Weber’s Concert Overture Der Beherrscher der Geister (“The Ruler of the Spirits”), Opus 27.  For the Friday morning concert, which is performed without intermission, the program consists of the works by Weber and Schubert.  These will be the first Cleveland Orchestra performances of the Weber overture.

FREE CONCERT PREVIEWS

Beginning one hour prior to the February 23 and 25 concerts, a Concert Preview titled “Jewels of Greatness” will be given in Reinberger Chamber Hall by Rose Breckenridge, Cleveland Orchestra Music Study Groups administrator and lecturer.  Beginning one hour prior to the Friday Morning Concert on February 24, Ms. Breckenridge will give the Concert Preview talk in the Concert Hall.  This series is funded by a generous endowment gift from Dorothy Humel Hovorka.

a contribution to the Orchestra’s Guest Artist Fund from Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sherwin.

The Severance Hall Ticket Office is located in the Smith Lobby. The entrance and 15-minute Ticket Service parking are along East Boulevard. The Ticket Office is open 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday-Friday and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The office is closed Sundays and holidays, except for those days with performances, when it opens 3 hours before concert start time.
