Cleveland Orchestra Miami

The Cleveland Orchestra launched its landmark Miami residency project in January 2007 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.  The Miami Musical Association supports and helps oversee these annual performances and education activities, with a goal of fostering a culture of passionate and dedicated concert-going among the broadest constituency.

Each season, Cleveland Orchestra Miami serves more than 20,000 adults and young people in the Miami-Dade community through a variety of concerts and community engagement activities. Media from across the country and around the world have covered the Orchestra’s residency with enthusiastic reports in publications including the New York Times, Financial Times, Miami Herald, El NuevoHerald, Sun-Sentinel, Coral Gables Gazette, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Akron Beacon Journal, and Miami Hurricane.

In March 2011, Franz Welser-Möst appointed Giancarlo Guerrero as principal guest conductor of Cleveland Orchestra Miami.  In this newly-created role, Guerrero is programming and conducting subscription concerts and special events, guiding artistic planning for the Orchestra's Miami activities, and participating in collaborations with Miami partner institutions and across all education and community engagement programs.
