FAQs – About Blossom

The Blossom Festival Concert Experience

Where is Blossom located?

Blossom Music Center is located at:
1145 Steels Corners Road
Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, 44223,

and is surrounded by the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park which protects 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. For more information on getting to Blossom, visit Getting There.

Where can I get information about and order tickets for Blossom Festival concerts?

For concert information and to order tickets, please visit our online Calendar, call 216-231-1111 or 800-686-1141, or visit the Severance Hall Ticket Office during regular business hours. You can also purchase tickets at the Blossom Box Office:

Blossom Music Center
beginning June 3
Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 1 – 5 p.m. and through intermission on concert days.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code for Blossom Festival performances. Whatever you choose, be comfortable.  Blossom is a place to relax and take it easy.  If you’re going to picnic on the Lawn, go ahead and wear shorts and flip-flops if you like.  Comfortable shoes are a good choice for walking between the parking lots and the Lawn. In the Pavilion, where you are protected from the elements, some patrons prefer to dress up, more like business casual — but it’s entirely up to you.  Remember to take a jacket or blanket, since Blossom cools off after the sun goes down.  Weather conditions vary widely across northeastern Ohio and can change during the course of an evening.

When should I arrive?

Arrive at least 60 to 90 minutes before the concert in order to enjoy dinner, but even if you don’t plan to eat at Blossom, do allow yourself an extra 30 minutes to park, find seats, and relax before the music begins. The grounds open 2½ hours prior to each concert.

Where can I sit with my Lawn Ticket?

With a Lawn Ticket, you can choose to sit on the Lawn or in the Pavilion, where ushers will show you to designated General Admission areas. Seating in these areas is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Click here to view a seating chart.

Feel free to enjoy your picnic on the lawn, and then move to an available seat in the General Admission sections of the Pavilion before the concert begins. We just ask that you don’t move back out to the lawn during the performance or in between musical selections.

Can I change my Lawn Ticket for a Reserved Seat Pavilion Ticket?

Ticket holders may upgrade their Lawn ticket to a reserved seating Pavilion Ticket (subject to availability) at either the Severance Hall Ticket Office or Blossom Festival Box Office by paying the difference between the cost of the Lawn ticket and that of the reserved seat Pavilion Ticket. Please note that “Under 18 Free” Lawn Passes have no cash value.

How do I find my seat?

Blossom offers a variety of reserved seating options in the Pavilion as well as Lawn Tickets that allow you to choose between the Lawn and the covered General Admission seating in the Pavilion. Download a PDF of the seating chart. If you have reserved seat Pavilion Tickets, proceed to the Pavilion, where ushers will help you to find your reserved seats. If you have a Lawn Ticket, you can choose to seat yourself on the lawn or proceed to the Pavilion, where ushers will show you to designated general admission areas of the Pavilion. Seating in these areas of the Pavilion includes a total of 1,500 seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Who qualifies for the free Lawn Ticket?

Beginning July 3, 2011, The Cleveland Orchestra is offering free Lawn tickets to young people ages 17 and under with an “Under 18 Free” Lawn Pass. Up to two “under 18s” are admitted free with each paid Lawn ticket admission. “Under 18s” must have a pass and must be accompanied by an adult. “Under 18 Free” Lawn Passes are required for entry to Blossom.

The “Under 18 Free” Lawn Pass also allows for seating in the General Admission sections of the Pavilion. Pavilion seating is not encouraged for very young children. Seating in the General Admission sections is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each person regardless of age or seating location must be able to sit quietly throughout the performance without disturbing other patrons.

The “Under 18 Free” is a program
of The Cleveland Orchestra's Center for Future Audiences,
endowed by the Maltz Family Foundation.

Where can I get an “Under 18 Free” Lawn Pass?

“Under 18 Free” Lawn Passes are available in advance at the Severance Hall Ticket Office or
Blossom Box Office or on concert days at Blossom.

You can also print “Under 18 Free” Lawn Passes at home in just 4 easy steps:

  1. Go to the Event Calendar and choose the concert date that you wish to attend;
  2. Click “Buy Tickets” and click “Or you may select best available” below the “SELECT YOUR OWN SEAT” heading;
  3. Select the number of “Under 18 Free” Lawn Passes you would like (2 Under 18s admitted per paid Lawn Ticket) and click “Add to Cart” (Note: if you are ordering only an “Under 18” Lawn Pass, you must select "0" for the Regular Price ticket);
  4. On the Delivery Method page, select “Print at Home.”

What happens if it rains?

Blossom Festival concerts are performed rain or shine. In the event of rain, our Lawn/General Admission tickets will allow you access to the general admission sections of the Pavilion, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For current weather information, check www.weather.gov, tune in to your favorite radio or television station or call Blossom at 330-920-8040.

How long will the concert last?

Concerts will vary in length depending on the music program. Most concerts last approximately two hours, including one intermission.

Can I buy a recording of the concert?

We do not produce commercial recordings of our concerts, but the Bandwagon Gift Shop sells CDs featuring many excellent performances by The Cleveland Orchestra and many of our guest artists. Stop by before or after the concert or search the online store.

What if I can’t use my tickets?

If you cannot use your tickets, you may exchange them for another Blossom Festival performance, subject to availability and price difference. Alternatively, you may give your tickets to a friend or you may donate them for resale and receive credit for a charitable donation of the purchase price by returning your tickets by phone no later than 2½ hours prior to performance time. Call the Ticket Office at 216-231-1111 or 800-686-1141 to arrange a donation.

What if I have a special needs request?

The Cleveland Orchestra is committed to making Blossom Music Center an accessible and welcoming concert venue for all patrons. Special parking, cut-down curbs, restroom access, motorized transportation to seating areas, and accommodations for wheelchairs are available throughout the grounds to make our performances as accessible as possible. View Blossom Grounds Map. For more information, visit the Accessibility page.

What if I have other questions?
