Accessible Seating
Severance Hall ticket office staff is experienced in helping patrons to choose seats that meet their needs. Wheelchair seating at a variety of prices is available on the Orchestra Level, the Box Level, in the Dress Circle and in the Reinberger Chamber Hall. For patrons who prefer to transfer from a wheelchair, aisle seats with removable arms are available on the Orchestra Level in the Main Hall.
Severance Hall will sell accessible seats to only those patrons with special needs until 48 hours prior to a performance unless other seats are sold out before that time. Accessible seats are not available for online purchase. Please specify your accessibility requirements when purchasing tickets in person or by phone through the Severance Hall Ticket Office at 216-231-1111 or 800-686-1141.
Wheelchair Transport
Severance Hall provides provides courtesy wheelchair transport to patrons who need assistance getting to their seats. For most performances, a door attendant is available at the entrance of the Campus Center garage to help, but you may request wheelchair transport in advance by calling the House Manager at 216-231-7425.
Accessible Parking
A limited number of handicapped patron parking spaces are available in the Campus Center Garage, adjacent to Severance Hall on East Boulevard. There is a wheelchair accessible elevator from the lower Level Two to Level One in the garage. These spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis for vehicles displaying a handicapped parking hangtag or license plate. Arrive early as they do fill up quickly. Regular parking rates apply. Contact the Ticket Office in advance for pre-paid parking passes and information or see Parking Information.
The Euclid Avenue drop-off at the Schey Entrance is also handicapped accessible.
Accessible Restrooms
All Smith Lobby restrooms are fully accessible. In addition, handicapped-accessible family restrooms are located in the Smith and Dress Circle Lobbies.
Drinking Fountains
Accessible drinking fountains are located near the entrance to the restrooms in the Smith Lobby.
Elevator Service
Wheelchair accessible elevators are located on all lobby levels. Severance Hall’s historic patron elevators operate from the Smith Lobby and provide access to all rest rooms and accessible seating. Two additional self-service elevators provide access from the Lower Level to upper floors in Severance Hall.
Signage
Wayfinding signage is placed throughout Severance Hall. These signs are also in Braille.
Large Print Programs
Large print programs are available from the ushers for most Cleveland Orchestra performances at Severance Hall.
Assistive Listening Devices
Amplification devices are available without charge for all performances in the Main Hall. You will be asked to provide a driver’s license or ID card that will be held until return of the equipment. Please see the House Manager or Head Usher in the lobby before the concert, or make arrangements prior to your arrival by calling 216-231-7425.
Hearing Aids and Other Health-Assistive Devices
For the comfort of those around you, please reduce the volume on hearing aids and other devices that may produce noises that would distract other patrons. Please see the House Manager or Head Usher if you would like to use an Infrared Assistive Listening Device.
TTY
TTY line access is available at the public pay telephone in the Security Office located at the garage entrance.
Service Animals
Trained guide dogs and service animals are welcome in Severance Hall. When purchasing tickets, please notify the ticket office that you will be accompanied by a service animal.
In Case of Emergency
Contact an usher or a member of house staff if you require medical assistance. In the event of an emergency evacuation, a trained member of the Severance Hall staff will assist you.
