Halloween Spooktacular

Overview

Come dressed in your Halloween best for an afternoon of deliciously spooky musical fun, in a program filled with magic Tricks and musical Treats in celebration of Halloween! Delight in the musical magic of Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, shiver at the rattling bones of Saint-Saëns’s Danse Macabre, and more! There’s a costume contest for audience members (and orchestra musicians) and Severance Hall will be dressed up too!

The concert runs approximately one hour.

Free Pre-Concert Activities

HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR COSTUME CONTEST (Reinberger Chamber Hall)

To enter the contest, join the line at the entrance to Reinberger Chamber Hall.  Ten prizes will be awarded.  Judging begins at 2 p.m.  Hosted by Maryann Nagel.

INSTRUMENT DISCOVERY with Royalton Music Center (Smith Lobby, ground floor)

Kids can discover their “inner musician” by trying out orchestral instruments with the assistance of Royalton Music Center staff.  (www.royaltonmusic.com)

SING AND SWING (Smith Lobby, ground floor)

Even the littlest musicians can join the fun with Sing and Swing's Play Along Jam. Children can play an assortment of child friendly percussion instruments with their parents and the instructors from Sing and Swing (www.singandswingneo.org).

THE DANCE CENTRE by Heidi Glynias (Bogomolny-Kozerefski Grand Foyer)
featuring Michael Jackson’s Thriller and more!!

Just in time for Halloween, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” comes to life at Severance Hall, recreated by The Dance Centre.

Severance Restaurant

Severance Restaurant at Severance Hall is operated by Marigold Catering and features contemporary American cuisine in an elegant setting.  

The restaurant is located on the street level of Severance Hall along East Boulevard.
