Yuja Wang Plays Rachmaninoff

The Cleveland Orchestra
Lorenzo Viotti, conductor
Yuja Wang, piano

Concert Details

Rachmaninoff was among the many eminent musicians present at the premiere of the Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in 1924, and his Fourth Piano Concerto pitches forth an almost jazzy, free-form kind of music — beautifully combined with a never-ending fountain of melodic harmonies. Celebrated for her combination of charismatic artistry, technical virtuosity and captivating stage presence, critical superlatives and audience ovations have continuously followed Yuja Wang’s dazzling career, and her performances of Rachmaninoff are not to be missed.
