Corbin Stair joined The Cleveland Orchestra in May 2015 upon winning his first professional audition at the age of 21. He studied at the Curtis Institute of Music with former Principal Oboe of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Richard Woodhams. Other mentors and influences include John Ferrillo, Reid Messich, and Cleveland Orchestra colleagues Robert Walters, Jeff Rathbun, and Frank Rosenwein.
Mr. Stair has also performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and was a fellowship recipient at both the Aspen Music Festival and Tanglewood Music Festival.
Off the stage, Mr. Stair is actively involved at his church (Grace Church of Norton, Ohio) and is an avid golfer with many of his colleagues in The Cleveland Orchestra. Additionally, he is a passionate fan of Cleveland sports and Ohio State Buckeyes football.
