CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Orchestra welcomes young professionals between the ages of 21-40 to join a new group called The Circle. This dynamic group is designed for those who share a love of music and an interest in supporting The Cleveland Orchestra. The Circle provides members exclusive access to the Orchestra, with opportunities to meet musicians, and socialize at Severance Hall and Blossom Music Center. Memberships include bi-monthly concert tickets along with opportunities to attend social gatherings to network with friends and cultural business leaders of Northeast Ohio. The objectives of The Circle are to increase engagement opportunities for young people ages 21-40 and to help develop future volunteer community leaders.
The official launch of The Circle takes place at a reception on Friday, January 17, 2014 prior to The Cleveland Orchestra’s concert conducted by Franz Welser-Möst with Yefim Bronfman performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, Mozart’s “Prague” Symphony, and a United States premiere of Jörg Widmann’s Teufel Amor. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the concert at 8:00 p.m.
Cost of membership in The Circle is $15 per month for one membership and $20 per month for two memberships and includes bi-monthly tickets. New members join for a minimum of six months.
A launch event was held in December at the Great Lakes Brewing Company. Mackenzie Hutton, president of The Circle and Program Management Specialist for Forest City Enterprises said, “The event at the Great Lakes Brewing Company was the perfect way to introduce our new group and we are excited to hold our first event at Severance Hall on January 17th. The Circle is a great addition to the Cleveland Young Professionals scene and will provide an unparalleled opportunity to become involved with a world-class orchestra and a true cultural gem.” Additional leaders of The Circle include Kristen Grabenstein, Forest City Enterprises; John Pal Siemborski, Ernst & Young LLP; Mary LaVenia, Great Lakes Brewing Company and Sherry Yu, CWRU Medical Student.
Tickets for the reception and concert on Friday, January 17 are $15.
