    Program

Conductor, composer, and educator Leonard Bernstein was one of the most beloved and influential Americans in 20th-century culture. His daughter, Jamie Bernstein, hosts this one-hour family concert introducing kids to her father's music, modeled after his own groundbreaking Young People's Concerts. Audiences are encouraged to learn more about Leonard Bernstein and his music exhibit, “Leonard Bernstein: The Power of Music,” at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage beginning this fall 2019.  “She resembles her dad – irrepressible, feisty and game for just about anything.” Cleveland Plain Dealer

This concert is presented in partnership with Great Lakes Science Center, where STEM comes alive…and home to the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, one of only 11 visitor centers in the country.

“Under 18s Free” is a program of The Cleveland Orchestra’s Center for Future Audiences. The Center, created with a lead endowment gift from the Maltz Family Foundation, was established to fund programs to develop new generations of audiences for Cleveland Orchestra concerts in Northeast Ohio. With this funding, the “Under 18s Free” program enables over 20,000 young people to attend Orchestra concerts with their famlies each year at Blossom and Severance Hall.
