Composers don’t create music in a bubble; they often listen, learn, and build on each other’s ideas! Each piece in this concert shows how concepts and styles from earlier composers can inspire something new and exciting.
For example, in The Four Seasons, Antonio Vivaldi used instruments to paint musical pictures of nature. Hundreds of years later, Astor Piazzolla composed The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by combining Vivaldi’s influential ideas with tango rhythms and the sounds of his home country, Argentina.
Join us for a program that connects composers and listeners alike across time and space — one inspired idea at a time!
