Corbin Stair joined The Cleveland Orchestra as second oboe in May 2015, after completing his bachelor of music degree at the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Richard Woodhams, principal oboe of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Other major teachers have included Elaine Douvas, John Ferrillo, and Reid Messich. Mr. Stair served as principal oboe of the Symphony of the Lakes in Winona Lake, Indiana, 2009-2011. He has also performed as a substitute with the Philadelphia Orchestra and in orchestras and chamber music ensembles at the Aspen Music Festival, MasterWorks Festival, and at Tanglewood Music Center, where he received the 2013 Mickey L. Hooten Memorial Award.
