Serving as a transition area between Severance's main entrance and concert hall, the spectacular Bogomolny-Kozerefski Grand Foyer is in the Egyptian Revival style — with prominent displays of bronze and brass. The lobby is encircled by two-dozen red jasper marble columns imported from Italy. During the opening of Severance Hall in 1931, journalists marveled at the Grand Foyer’s beauty and referred to it as “a gigantic jewel box.”
