Brahms’s Third Symphony packs a wide variety of material into four compact, yet passionate movements of stunning depth and emotional sweep. Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša returns to also lead The Cleveland Orchestra in the wartime Third Symphony by his countryman Bohuslav Martinů and the Military Sinfonietta by countrywoman Vítĕzslava Kaprálová, who left a small but remarkable output before her untimely death at age 25.
