Ioana Missits

Ioana Missits joined the second violin section of The Cleveland Orchestra in 2000, after serving

as a violinist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. She was also a member of the Michigan

Opera Theater Orchestra, the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra, and a substitute musician with

the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. In her native country of Romania, she performed as a soloist in

the National Young Artist Gala and with the Cluj Napoca Philharmonic Orchestra. She holds a

Bachelor’s Degree in music performance from Bowling Green State University and a Master of

Music degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
