The Cleveland Orchestra Endowment
Your donation to the endowment creates a powerful legacy by keeping the music alive, preserving beauty for future generations, and forever sustaining our signature Cleveland sound.
About the Endowment
The Cleveland Orchestra endowment was established in 1928 by a group of forward-thinking leaders with a vision for the future of Cleveland and its orchestra. Today, thanks to the early and continued generosity of passionate music lovers, endowment proceeds provide 19% of The Cleveland Orchestra’s operating costs each year – powering the music our community loves.
Named Endowed Seats
Gifts starting at $5,000 (Blossom Music Center & Reinberger Chamber Hall);
$10,000 (Mandel Concert Hall)
“As I considered how to honor my mother’s 75th birthday, I thought about the lifetime of memorable performances at Severance that she and my late father enjoyed together. Endowing a chair in her honor was the perfect choice – and she was so touched!”
– Jessica Colombi
Naming a seat is a tangible reminder – every time you visit – that your legacy for music lives on in a space visited by thousands of friends and families each year. When you endow a seat in one of the Orchestra’s concert spaces, your support secures the future of extraordinary music and programming.

“Sarah and I are both teachers and have watched the development of young minds throughout our professional lives. There is nothing more important than supporting students who are working hard and show potential for special achievement. The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra combines our love of music and our admiration of professional musicians who teach the discipline required to achieve excellence. We are delighted to support the Youth Orchestra that gives so much to Cleveland and beyond.”
– Geoffrey Gund,

– Anthony and Diane Wynshaw-Boris
Endowing a chair in the Orchestra creates a lasting connection between the donor, musician, and The Cleveland Orchestra while providing a firm financial foundation for the future. Patrons have the opportunity to endow chair in both The Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra.
Endowed chairs directly support the endowment, with an annual draw supporting the Orchestra and its programs. As the years pass, your name and legacy will be forever tied to the music that brings joy to audiences at Blossom, Severance, and across the globe.
